“Creating Heart-Centered Wellness”: Talk in Brooklyn 1/23/11
In Chinese Medicine, the Heart stores the Spirit, and connects us to ourselves and those around us. When the Heart is healthy, that connection is strong, we interrelate with the world in positive, healthy, and appropriate ways, and we’re able to express warmth, communicate effectively, blood flow is regulated, and sleep is rejuvenating.
When it is in disharmony, we experience insomnia, anxiety, palpitations, our short-term memory is affected, we find it difficult to express or communicate, and there may even be some inappropriate or bizarre behavior.
Want to know more about the Heart, and how to keep it in balance?
Come join me, as I give a talk at Zora Space in Brooklyn, to find how you can incorporate heart-centered wellness into your life from the Chinese Medicine perspective. I will talk a little bit about the background of acupuncture, the Heart channel (yes, there’s actually a meridian just for the Heart!), how to tell when it becomes unbalanced, and what you can do to rebalance it. Get ready for my powerpoint presentation! I promise to make it more entertaining than it sounds.
Since I practice acupuncture and reiki, I will be talking about how these healing modalities benefit our Heart health. I also work with chakras (this is more of the reiki perspective, rather than that of Chinese Medicine), and will lead us through a heart-opening meditation/exercise.
Live from your heart this year!
