My New Reiki and Acupuncture Videos On YouTube!

How was your Thanksgiving holiday, if you celebrate it?

As for me, I had a wonderfully nourishing time with my parents, and I was even able to perform Reiki on my father, who has a long recovery ahead of him post-brain surgery last year. It was a special honor to be able to give him some pain relief, particularly on his ankle. Just to give you an idea of what a tough customer my father initially was, he’s a Western Physician, whose strong belief in empirical science has built him a stable foundation in his medicine, as well as a name amongst his peers.

So, in 2001, you can imagine the disbelief on my father’s face, when I told him I was going to grad school to get my Masters of Science in Acupuncture degree! (Actually, what he emitted was more like an exasperated cry to his Higher Power!) His understanding of Reiki was even less expansive than Acupuncture. In truth, I’ve been practicing Reiki for 8 years, much longer than my practice of Acupuncture. Yet, I have become proficient with both modalities.

So, for him to say “Yes” to my question, “Would you like me to do some Reiki on you?”, these past few days was mind-blowing! After invoking the Universe so that I could be a clear channel of Reiki, along with calling upon some sacred symbols, guidance from my Spirit Guides and Higher Self, and quickly accessing the stillness in my headspace, I placed my hands on his left ankle, as he lay in bed, since it was swollen, red, and painful. Over the course of 3 days, I asked my father if he’d like Reiki on his ankle, and he’d say, “Yes”. With each passing day, and with no other treatment on his ankle other than Reiki, the redness and swelling began to dissipate. And, each time, he’d say that his ankle felt better when Reiki was applied. I love that I was able to give back to my father in this way!

I often hear, “What is Reiki?”, or “What happens during a Reiki session?” I receive more questions inquiring about what goes on during a Reiki session than in an Acupuncture session, due to the seemingly mysterious nature of energy healing (although, in some circles, Acupuncture is considered energy healing, as well!)

With this in mind, I hope my latest Alcantara Acupuncture & Healing Arts YouTube channel video will answer any questions you may have about this wonderful, and deceivingly powerful modality of energy healing!

And, in case you missed it last time, here’s the revised Acupuncture video!

Enjoy, and I’d love to hear feedback on them!

Have you ever experienced the healing effects of Reiki?
If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

With light blessings,

i love this…i work in a very empirical, western science-based field, and often feel like i’m ‘hiding’ my true (holistic) self. but i see now that it’s about bringing these worlds together and my presence there has value – and i myself am also learning to let go of my own judgments about western medicine! thank you! aleya

Thanks for your comment, Aleya! I’m familiar with the western science-based field, myself, because of my father, and because I have a lot of relatives in it, too. I felt similarly, that I had to “hide” my true self, but, apparently, I got over that! 🙂 And, I totally agree, there’s much value in both western and eastern modalities of healing, and I believe they can work together. Much light to you in integrating your true, whole self in all you do!
